Purpose
To increase awareness of the Heart Foundation; To convey basic heart health messages; To build networks of support for the Heart Foundation; To identify and exploit fundraising opportunities; To act as an advocate on behalf of the Heart Foundation.
Areas of Responsibility
Sourcing new speaking engagements; Responding to speaker requests; Planning and preparing presentations to suit the audience; Presenting to groups.
Tasks
Source new leads and respond to requests for community speaker engagements; provide presentations to community and / or corporate organisations; to promote basic heart health messages to adults; increase awareness of the Heart Foundation's lifesaving work; generate fundraising opportunities and build networks of support.
Objectives
To increase awareness of cardiovascular disease and promote key heart health messages; Build support for the Heart Foundation; Raise urgently needed funds.
Special Requirements
Own transport is essential.
Role Qualifications
Excellent communication skills; Able to liaise at all levels; Confident; Assertive; Experience presenting would be advantageous; Ability to plan and produce a presentation; Reliable; Passionate about the work of the Heart Foundation.
Training/Supervision Provided
Formal training and induction; Volunteer handbook; Peer-to-peer observation; Ongoing support; Minimal supervision following completion of training.
