Visitor Information Volunteers

Purpose

This position provides support to the on duty staff member at the Beaufort Community Resource Centre.

Areas of Responsibility

Volunteers will work within their capacity to support staff members, some administrative tasks may include photocopying and answering phones.

Tasks

Pyrenees Shire Council is committed to the ongoing development of its Beaufort Community Resource Centre incorporating an accredited Visitor Information Centre, as an integral economic driver for the Beaufort region. To achieve these objectives Council seeks suitable volunteers to support staff to ensure the continuity of service at the centre on weekends and public holidays.

Objectives

This position's main objectives are to provide support to staff at the centre and to assist community members and visitors to the centre.

Special Requirements

There are no special requirements for these positions

Role Qualifications

Volunteers do not require any particular qualification or skills; however a keen interest in customer service and knowledge of the local area would be advantageous.

Training/Supervision Provided

Supervision is provided by the on site staff member and training will be provided.
