Volunteer Visitor

Purpose
to decrease social isolation for people who are frail aged or have a disability
Areas of Responsibility
Tasks
Visit frail aged persons in their own homes. Provide some social support, have a cuppa, go for a drive, sit and chat.
Objectives
Special Requirements
Volunteers are assessed and trained by the program co-ordinators and require a current police check.
Role Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required, however a committment to working with elderly people and people with a disability is a must.
Training/Supervision Provided
Two training sessions of approximately 2 hours is provided and regular ongoing support and supervision is provided by the co-ordinator.
