Purpose
To welcome passengers/visitors on board our trams, give information about the City, the Gardens and the tram, provide a visitor experience. Collect fares on behalf of the Museum and support the activities of the Museum. The position is available primarily during the weekend and school holidays, but also during the week for groups who hire the tram.
Areas of Responsibility
Ensuring passengers are safety during the trip, providing information and collecting fares etc. Work with the driver to ensure the safe operation of the tram.
Tasks
Tram Conductor on Ballarat's heritage tramcars, welcoming visitors onboard, providing information - selling tickets and souvenirs to passengers/visitors and giving them a pleasable experience. Objectives
Enjoy yourself, provide stories about Ballarat and its trams to passengers and further the work of the Ballarat Tramway Museum, be part of Ballarat's living history.
Special Requirements
Minimum age 18 years. Basic Medical examination required. Membership of the Museum is necessary - $25 per annum.
Role Qualifications
Able to assist passengers boarding and alighting the tram Able to handle fares Be able to provide assistance to the driver when necessary.
Training/Supervision Provided
Training provided - about two days. Includes an Induction/Safety course.
