Purpose
Promoting and facilitating increased and sustained access by culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities with significant aged care needs to aged care information and support services.
Areas of Responsibility
a.To attend training sessions (30 hours). b.To fully understand the aged care services available in the community and their systems. c.To disseminate into their own communities the knowledge and information they have learnt after the completion of 30-hour training. d. To discuss with their community members and to gather information about difficulties, problems or hindrances in using the aged care services.
Tasks
Volunteers will be requested to learn about aged care services available in Ballarat, their systems and how to approach them, then to disseminate into their own communities the knowledge and information they have learnt educating with confidence other members of their communities in understanding aged care services and their systems in order for communities members to make the most of the services.“THIS BALLARAT INTERCULTURAL AGED CONNECTIONS (BIAC) PROJECT IS FUNDED BY THE AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND AGEING UNDER THE COMMUNITY PARTNERS PROGRAM”
