Purpose
To assist Australian Red Cross Victoria (ARCV) to meet agreed responsibilities as outlined in Victoria’s Emergency Management Arrangements by directing, through the regions Emergency Registration Teams, all ARCV emergency registration activities within the Division. This role is responsible for managing the Division’s Emergency Registration and Inquiry function with the support of the Emergency Services Coordinator and Victorian Office staff.
Areas of Responsibility
This position covers the following Local Government areas: Ballarat, Central Goldfields, Golden Plains, Hepburn, Moorabool, Pyrenees Travel within these areas is required
Tasks
• Command all emergency Registration and Inquiry Teams within the region during activations in the absence of Regional Registration Officer • Plan, implement and manage the Regions recruitment, induction and training programs for emergency registration volunteers and teams, including their involvement in training exercises with other emergency management agencies. • Promote and maintain co-operative working relationships with the VIC Police and the other emergency management agencies within the Region. • Assist the ESLO with the formulation and maintenance of ARCV emergency service management plans for the Region. • Ensure that emergency registration Team Leaders and team members fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with current instructions and procedures. • Raise emergency registration issues as necessary with the Emergency Services Liaison Officer and the Emergency Services Department. • Coordinate an annual resource audit of registration kits held at police stations in the region. • Ensure that a debrief is conducted for all emergency registration teams involved in exercises and activations.

Essential • Sound interpersonal skills and experience working with people and teams • Ability to think clearly in stressful situations, to use delegated authority wisely, and to make decisions independently. • Willingness, and time to commit to the duties and responsibilities of the position • .Demonstrated understanding of emergency registration processes. • Sound verbal communication skills. • Ability to plan, conduct and evaluate training activities involving ARCV emergency registration teams. • Sound recording and reporting skills. Desirable Awareness of Occupational Health & Safety considerations Knowledge of the application of Equal Opportunity provisions. Hold a current driver’s licence and be wiling to drive within the Division.
Training/Supervision Provided
Regular contact and training is provided by the Regional Emergency Services Coordinator
