Great Dividing Trail

Purpose
Join CVA to assist in the improvement of the Great Diving Trail which links the old gold rush towns at the heart of Victoria, as well as the forests, hills and lakes, straddling the Great Dividing Range. The project is conducted fortnightly, 1 fornight the tam will be working at the Castlemaine section of the trail & the next fornight the team will be working in the area of the Dayleford/Trentham section. Pickup can be arranged
Areas of Responsibility
Our key responsibilities will be to upgrade, improve and construct the Great Dividing Trail between Bendigo to Ballarat towards Bacchuss Marsh.
Tasks
Join CVA to assist in the improvement of the Great Dividing Trail which links the old gold rush towns at the heart of Victoria, as well as the forests, hills and lakes, straddling the Great Dividing Range. Some of the work involved in the Great Dividing Trail are removing & installing new marker posts, building bridges & boardwalks, creating new tracks for walkers & mountain bikes, some weed removal & track repairs.
Objectives
The objective of this project is to improve the Great Dividing trail for both walkers and mountain bike riders as well as upgrade facilities.
Special Requirements
There are no specific requirements for the volunteers to join Better Earth projects. Volunteers can join for a day or for the whole week. There is a cost of $208 ($120 concession) (this includes food, accommodation & travel to & from the project). There is no cost if joining or the day or if you are local.
Role Qualifications
There are no specific qualifications or skills for the volunteers to join Better Earth projects.
Training/Supervision Provided
Conservation Volunteers employs Team Leaders who are qualiifed in OH&S, Level 2 First Aid & Risk Assessment.
