Purpose
To provide support and assistance to adult studenst, returning to study who have experienced some disadvantage in their lives such as social isolation.
Areas of Responsibility
To discuss material covered in lectures and to provide guidance and support with study skills, such as research and essay writing.
Tasks
Assist adult students, returning to study with research, essay planning and writing, use of the internet etc.
Objectives
To ensure the students feel supported during their study, which will be a foreign world to them. Many will not have been in a learning environment for many years.
Special Requirements
Volunteers will be police checked by United Way)
Role Qualifications
Experience studying at or qualifications at a tertiary level in any subject area.
Training/Supervision Provided
Induction training will take place prior to commencement of program.
