Why Volunteer?
A volunteer may want to be involved for any number of reasons, including being involved in activities that benefit the community and the volunteer, or being involved in a specific area of volunteering such as sports and recreation. Volunteers may want to be involved in a specific organisation or event as a "one off" event, or may want to be involved every week for a specified number of hours.
The organisation benefits from the time and skills of the volunteer and the volunteer also gets value from the experience. This may be through the satisfaction of helping others, or may be in gaining new work experience, skills or social networks. There are many reasons why people choose to volunteer.
